Doing good on a deadline:
12:00 p.m., August 13, 2011 | Event kickoff. Web teams and non-profit organizations will meet at Open Media Foundation in Denver, CO for a day of do-gooding and design.
Teams and non-profits will be matched up randomly. Each web team will be briefed in advance by a designated representative from their assigned non-profit and then given time to discuss any questions or concerns on the day of the event. Web team members may work remotely, but at least one member of the team must be present on the day of the event.
Teams will be given the project schedule, hourly benchmarks and plenty of caffeine and snacks. While the web teams get to work, Project FreshKicks will offer free web workshops and tasty treats for everyone else. Web teams will have the next 24 hours to design, develop and tailor content for their website.
12:00 p.m., August 14, 2011 | Wrapup. Tired web teams will dramatically reveal new websites for their deserving non-profit. The crowd will Ooo and Aww as the web teams receive recognition for their successes on appearance, functionality and how well their site matches the nonprofit's needs. Every one is a winner.
